What you should know about Timothy:

I want to be known as a kind person, allowing others to see my faith in Jesus with my actions on and off the water.

How Timothy started fishing

As a kid my dad and uncles would take me.  As an adult, I met Inspector Joe Jackson and joined his fishing club.  And, I was hooked!

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To compete, stay safe and meet the kind of people only outdoor sports can provide.

Favorite way to fish

Jerkbait.  Never seems to fail me.

Most exciting fishing experience

Winning the CoAngler side of the Ray Scott Championship on Old Hickory in 2017.  That one will be tough to beat.

How Timothy preps for a tournament

Most of the time, I show up and fish.  I think years of prepping and experience have given me the freedom to get away with that.  Haven’t prefished for a tournament (CoAngler side) in years.  Lol

Three favorite search baits

Frog, jerkbait and spinnerbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

1st Place at the 2017 Ray Scott Championship.  Threw a spinnerbait until my arm fell off (Terminator with swim/paddle tail trailer)

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Weather changes.

When tournaments don't go my way

Pray to God thanking Him for the opportunity to do something I love and asking Him to remind me what is truly most important in life.  God, Family, Friends, Security and then Fishing.  In that order, always in that order.  Trust me when fishing gets in front of any of these, your happiness is effected.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Pray about everything.  Believe me, God cares and wants you to enjoy what you love.  May sound nuts, but I am a testimony...it works!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Soft plastics to catch numbers

Hard Baits for a workout.

Light colors in the Sun and Clear water.  Dark colors in the mud and clouds.

Pay attention to the fishing greats (KVD, Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, etc) You will learn something.

The fish are often more comfortable than you...fish when it’s cold for BIG ones!

Love God and Family before fishing.  A happy wife is a happy life.
