What you should know about Shawn:

How Shawn started fishing

I pond fished all of my life.  Bought my first boat in 2006 and started fishing tournaments in 2008.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To qualify and fish the Bassmaster Classic.

Favorite way to fish

I like to fish fast.  I have  little to no patience.

Most exciting fishing experience

Taking kids fishing and watching their faces once they cath their first fish.

How Shawn preps for a tournament

Internet research, pay attention to the weather (future and past), revisit history.

Three favorite search baits

Crankbait, spinnerbait, and chatterbait.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Finishing 14th in the ABA National Champoinship in 2009 on Lake Dardanell, Ark.  Fishing was tough but I managed to scratch my weights each day with a Lucky Craft RC 2.5 Crankbait.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Removing outside noise....."dock talk"

When tournaments don't go my way

Find away to learn something from it and move on to the next.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

There is no replacement for time on the water.  Fish as much and as often as you can.
