What Kenny does for a living:

I work as a professional educator.

What you should know about Kenny:

How Kenny started fishing

I started fishing club events with my father when I was 12 so I have been doing this almost 40 years.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To continue to get better.  I don't believe we ever reach our full potential.  When we start thinking there is nothing else to learn you may as well quit.

Favorite way to fish

I dont have a favorite way to fish.  My favorite way is whatever it takes to make them bite.

Most exciting fishing experience

Too many to name.  It's always about the next event.

How Kenny preps for a tournament

To me it is all about the details.  Prep is what seperates the fishermen today.  Technical wise everyone is about equal.  It's about tackle preparedness and mental mindset.

Three favorite search baits

A spinnerbait, topwater and a crankbait.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

The best events you have are the days when you are totally in tune with what the fish are doing.  That doesn't always result in winning a tournament, it just means that you were 100% into what you were doing.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Taking all of the variables involved with our sport (weather, type of lake etc) and being able to figure out how to make the fish bite.

When tournaments don't go my way

I learn from them and move on to the next one.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Learn to do your own thing.  Don't depend on anyone else for your success.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Shallow water fish will bite 12 months out of the year.  It's no longer the sexy way to fish but it is very dependable.
