What you should know about Jeff:

How Jeff started fishing

Started fishing ponds a a kid. I migrated to Federation Club Tournaments in 2007 and it has grown from there!

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Like many, my goal is to make it to the Elite Series and/or FLW Tour some day.

Favorite way to fish

I love to grind out my limit when the bite is tough dissecting an area where the fish are. I wouldn't consider myself a power fisherman, but I do enjoy running a pattern.

Most exciting fishing experience

How Jeff preps for a tournament

Tie, retie and then tie again. I like my knots perfect. I also start every morning of a tournament with some Pecan Spinwheels and an Orange Monster Zero.

Three favorite search baits

Squarebills, swim jigs and jerkbaits

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I finished 1st in an ABA #49 Tournament at Truman back in early June 2017. I had just got back from vacation the day before. My girlfriend convinced me to go and "knock the rust off". Not only did I knock the rust off, I was the only angler that came to the scales with a limit! It was a true GRIND that day, as I caught my last keeper 15 minutes before the weigh in. I concentrated on my strengths throwing squarebills to shallow cover and backing it up with a brush hog when I got short strikes.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Consistent changing conditions

When tournaments don't go my way

I smile. I know that tomorrow I will wake up and have another chance the next time. I like to reflect on my way home and make notes in my journal of what NOT to do next time.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

I love Ike. I stick with his mantra all the time: NEVER GIVE UP
