What you should know about Olivia:
How Olivia started fishing
As a little girl I would spend the summers with my grandmother who loved to fish. She would drive down dirt roads to find ponds or pull over when she saw a good spot. She always had a cane pole in the trunk. It was with her that I learned to sit and have patience while fishing. It was the first chase of the big the one that got me hooked as a child though. We would sit for hours waiting on the big one to bite. It was the thrill of hooking and angling that made my heart race. Since then I have fished the cold waters of WI and MN for Pike and Muskie, to the Gulf of Mexico for Saltwater angling. A fellow co-worker convinced me about 4 years to join the ABA and fish a tournament as a co-angler. I was relunctant because I loved the peacefulness of fishing and wasn't sure I would enjoy the competitiveness of it. It took weighing in on my second tournament that hooked me and have fished tournaments ever since. I was a co-angler up until this last year when I bought my own boat and now compete as a boater. I enjoy the thrill, the knowledge I gain from other anglers, and knowing I am supporting a sport that gives back to our environment.
Aspirations or goals with fishing
I aspire to be a better angler. To watch and learn from others as well as introducing more individuals into tournament fishing.
Favorite way to fish
My favorite way to fish is finesse. I learned to be patient with finesse fishing while living in CA. It reminds me to slow down and get in tune with the fish and how I am working the bait. It slows me down on those tough days.
