What you should know about John:

Avid outdoorsman, love family, friends and being a Christian

How John started fishing

My father introduced me to fishing and hunting as a young child, love the outdoors and competive bass fishing and hope to be able to pass it on to the next generation.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Professional Angler competing in the bassmasters classic

Favorite way to fish

Shallow river sytems are my favorite but Im very versitle and will do whatever it takes to be competative

Most exciting fishing experience

Every time Im on the water :-)

How John preps for a tournament

Honestly I dont get a lot of prep time and mostly practice during competion hours. I enjoy being a father of 3 awesome children and being a husband of an amazing wife that i spend as much time with as possible ..

Three favorite search baits

crankbait, buzzbait, crankbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

1st place "ABA Bassmasters Weekend Series" Old Hickory Lake July 2013, Caught several fish early that morning on a Mean Mouth Lures buzzbait covering water around grass beds. Afternoon bite mostly consistied of ledge fishing with a 11inch NetBait Cmac worm riggged up with 20lb Pline C21

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

understanding and learning what the fish are doing the day of competition

When tournaments don't go my way

Understanding how to lose will make you a much better fisherman and regardless of the outcome be prepared to represent yourself as a professional for your family and sponsors

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Work harder than anyone you are fishing against and pay attention to detail
