What you should know about Marcus:

How Marcus started fishing

I grew up in Idaho fishing for trout and and pan fish. In 2013 I was relocated by the Air Force to Texas and some of my new co-workers asked me if I knew how to fish I said "yeah" what we fishing for trout. They laughed and said no "Bass" I said I knew nothing about bass. So I signed up for a tournament and brought 2 open faced reels 3 crankbaits and a couple spinner baits and didn't catch a fish.  As I was able to fish with some great people I learned how to fish Texas rig, swim baits, Carolina rig ect.... at my first district tournament I caught the big bass for the weekend and now I feel I can competitively fish with these guys and girls now because the knowledge they gave me is priceless.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To have fun Everytime I am out in the water, no matter if the fish are biting.

Favorite way to fish

Texas rig, because it was the first way I really learned to bass fish and love to flip in heavy cover and fish docks.

Most exciting fishing experience

Catching big bass at the 2014 district 112 championship in the trees at Lake Ray Roberts.  I thought I was hung on a tree, nope it was a big bass jumping out if the water.

How Marcus preps for a tournament

I go to the lake a few times before the tournament, locate new fish and Mark them and throw a line in trying not to set the hook. Mainly check new water and try not to live in the past or take spots my boaters have taken me to.

Three favorite search baits

Crankbaits, swim jig, and chatterbox.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

When tournaments don't go my way
