Fireman and bass angler

What you should know about Wayman:

I'm an avid tournament angler,  who loves the outdoors and love teaching kids about the sport of fishing

How Wayman started fishing

I grew up fishing as a kid,  fished my 1st tournament when I was 15 and been hooked every since then

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To fish the FLW TOUR or BASS ELITES

Favorite way to fish

I'm a shallow water fisherman.  I like that style because fish will always be shallow year round

Most exciting fishing experience

Catching over 27lbs in a tournament

How Wayman preps for a tournament

Practice practice practice

Three favorite search baits

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

My best tournament finish was on Lake Hartwell.  I finished 5th but caught over 30 in one spot throwing a spinnerbait

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Having the mindset of knowing when to leave a dead area

When tournaments don't go my way

Start looking forward to the next one.  Can't let bad days sit on your mind long,  I feel that negative vibe will carry over

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

To follow your heart and be able to want to make sacrifices

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Start shallow,  learn one technique at a time.  Get confidence with that before going to something else
