What you should know about Jason:

How Jason started fishing

Starting fishing when my dad (Bob Allen) put a fishing pole in my hands at 2 years old. Since then I've fishing all my life. For sure it is my longest lasting hobby.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

As of now I want to win my first solo tournament. From there my goals will be change from tournament to tournament

Favorite way to fish

Shallow water power fishing. Especially for large mouth

Most exciting fishing experience

When I was 11 years old I fished a tournemt with my dad and I ended up catching right around a 5 lber which ended up being the big bass of the tournament. I was super excited running in and out of the water at the way in to ask my dad if anyone had beaten my big bass yet.

How Jason preps for a tournament

2+ days of pre fish, watching videos. Looking at google earth and electronics on the boat. Watch the weather and fishing reports.

Three favorite search baits

Buzz bait, spinner bait, crank bait.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

Had a 3 fish tournament out of Allatoona and me and my dad ending up with just shy of 12 lbs. which is a huge bag for that lake. I ended up with big bass and the Win. I have many more tournament wins with my dad but that one stands out cause I crushed my dad that day.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Getting out of bed. I AM NOT a morning person. Lol

When tournaments don't go my way

Gotta have a short memeory on those. This is my first year as a solo angler and it is a huge adjustment to make. So I just have to learn from my mistakes and think what happened on the water and improve. Then move on.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Go in with an open mind. Don't take it too seriously and never forget the reason you started fishing in the first place... Having Fun
