What you should know about Michael:

How Michael started fishing

Used to take a bus after school then hike up hill to a pond . I started fishing bass tournaments in a club at 24 years old .

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Alway to grow and expand my fishing knowledge. I hope my determination inspires others to be productive and successful on and off the water !

Favorite way to fish

Flipping , pitching , boat docks , power fishing . Love the reaction strike.

Most exciting fishing experience

I was a young teen 12 or 13 caught my first giant bass about 5-6 lb, as I dragged it up the bank my line snapped . I jumped into the lake as the fish was rolling down the bank. I put my arms out and the bass rolled into my chest . She was Mine !!!! From that point I was hooked forever !

How Michael preps for a tournament

Try to prep everything I can . Then scramble to get it right on tournament day !!!

Three favorite search baits

Spinner bait , chatter bait , jig sometime a rattle trap

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

First federation tournament I won moved into an area w rising water and threw a buzz bait to win that day .

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Getting up early!

When tournaments don't go my way

Work harder at where you fell short .

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Fish as a rider for a couple of years on different bodies of water .

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Practice pitching and casting in your down time .
