What Truck, Boat and Outboard does Ted run?

Triton--- Mercury ProXS250--- Dodge Ram

My Sponsors

I have in the past. I'm now at the point of much more free time and look to maintain old and new friendships in the future for my fishing and the fishing industry. Plus this year I'll be reprecenting the sponsors of the American Bass Anglers.

What Ted does for a living:

I was a tile, marble, granite contractor for 30yrs. Retired now due to physical reasons.

What you should know about Ted:

I'm a veteran of ths United States Navy. I have been associated with A Fishing youth group "Teen Sportsfishing" for over 15 years. Born and raised in Florida. I have been a bass fisherman since I was a kid. I have fished bass tournaments for at least 20 years. I have won some and I have lost a bunch. I'm a lifetime member of the ABA and have fished the open series since the 2nd year fo its inception.

To me fishing Tournaments is more about friendships and camaraderie and competition. Tournament winnings are nice but not as important. I have won in the open division and the placks are on the wall in the man cave along with other fishing awards from the past. Hopefully I can add to the collection.

My biggest bass was a 17.60 pounder. I caught her out of Lake Wolford in souther California. Lake Dixon where Dottie the 25 pounder was caught is close by and where I taught my son how th fish.

I'm the Ultimate fishing package winner for 2016 through the ABA. This year I get to support the ABA and all their sponsers as well as them supporting me. It is my pleasure to be apart of this great organization and fly the colors for them and our sponsors.

How Ted started fishing

Good old Grampa. He took me crappie fishing with since age 2. I miss him. I have worn his belt for 20 years while fishing to keep his memory close. I started tounament fishing when I knew I could be competitive. Fishing is my escape from reality. While on my boat its all about fishing.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

To support those kind enough to support me with fishing. To always enjoy and respect mother nature and to succeed to the best of my abilities in future tournaments no matter what level I'm fishing.

Favorite way to fish

Crank Baits. I love to power fish.

Most exciting fishing experience

Seeing the expressions on the face of a blind child when he caught his first bass.

How Ted preps for a tournament

Have all equipment in top condition. Spend lots of time on the water.

Three favorite search baits

Lipless baits, Crank baits, Spinner baits, Weedless top water baits.

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I won a ABA Open Series tounament. All lipless bait fish. My co angler got a 8lb. plus bass on my last custom colored Lipless bait I gave him to us. It was his first tournament, He was thrilled. He did lose my bait. Luckily it was the end of the day.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Keeping up with fish you find in practice.

When tournaments don't go my way

Hey at leased I got to go fishing.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Patience and time on the water. Take a kid fishing.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

Every pot and pan in your kitchen has a different purpose. Fishing poles and lures are the same. Take the style of fishing you like the most and learn the different ways to fish within that style.
