Heintz Captures ABA Division 65 Angler of the Year
|
Baskins Scoops Win on Grand Lake Fifteen anglers competed against each other Saturday, July 11, 2020, on Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees in northeast Oklahoma for American Bass Anglers AFT division #65’s last regular season tournament .The tournament turned out to be a good day on the water for Steve Baskins of Owasso, OK, who pulled a nice three fish limit of 9.73 lbs. to take first place. Steve made a comment that the fish got spooked into his boat. Must be a secret fishing language only anglers understand. The Covid-19 pandemic had pushed Division 65’s last tournament into some hotter fishing months, so I’m sure that the early morning bite was very important to getting spooked. |
Jackson Takes Big Win on Grand Lake Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division 65’s tournament on Grand Lake held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, proved to be a scorcher of a day with temps quickly reaching into the 90s. The 14 competing anglers again faced an adverse Oklahoma weather day when the weather suddenly turned blustery at launch time. Gusts over 30 miles per hour for most of the day made navigating the lake and locating the fish more difficult. |
Knutson Wins Big on Grand Lake First-time boater Zak Knutson of Oklahoma City, OK, came in with a beautiful 6.68 lbs. momma bass on Saturday, March 23, 2019, to take first place and big bass honors.
