John Simonof Wins District 42 Two-Day Divisional Championship on the Arkansas River

Story by John Simonof

The Ram American Fishing Tour Division 42 contested its Two-Day Divisional Championship of the 2015 season on the Arkansas River/Little Rock Pool on August, 22-23, 2015.  Angling pressure was heavy over the weekend as multiple tournaments were also held on the small pool.  Constantly changing weather conditions and fluctuations in the water level and river flow throughout the weekend required anglers to continuously adapt their strategies to catch fish.

John Simonof topped the field with a five fish limit both days for a total weight of 21.31 pounds.  John relied on Temple Fork Outfitter rods and Lew's reels spooled up with Hi-Seas braided and Quattro Fluorocarbon line to catch his fish on a Spro popping frog and homemade football jigs poured on OWNER hooks.

Rob Stone hauled in eight fish over the weekend for a total weight on 15.80 pounds.  Rob relied on a Berkley Pit Boss and trick worms to catch his fish.

Rounding out the top three was Amsoil pro Sean Ingalls.  Sean relied on crankbaits to sack up seven fish over the weekend for a total weight of 13.27 pounds.

Big Bass on Day One caught by Sean Ingalls weighed 2.71 pounds.  Big Bass caught on Day Two, a 3.19 pound fish was weighed in by Steve Smith.

1st place          John Simonof              21.31 lbs

2nd place         Rob Stone                   15.80 lbs

3rd place         Sean Ingalls                 13.27 lbs

4th place          Steve Smith                 13.08 lbs

5th place          Eric Turner                    7.26 lbs

The most consistent D42 2015 angler was Rob Stone.  Rob earned the opportunity to compete against all other divisional AOY's for a brand new 2015 Triton/Mercury package at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship on Lake Hartwell in October 2015.

I'd like to thank all of our local sponsors who provide great support throughout the year.
