Chip Rodgers Wins on Weiss Lake
From Division 88, Alabama East/Central Chip Rodgers of High Point, GA is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a First Place win in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on Weiss Lake April 16th. Chip visited numerous brush piles he had located with his side imaging unit and landed four fish that weighed in at a whopping 22.55 pounds. A Secret Lures 2XHD jig was credited for his day’s catch.
Ken Draskovic of Scottsboro AL, came in second place with 17.52 pounds. A combination of bed fish and flipping was used for his limit.
Marvin “Jerry” McCullough of Rome, GA placed third with 15.10 pounds.
Rounding out the top four was Derrell Parker of Summerville, GA with 14.53 pounds.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
The Ram American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.

Out of an over abundance of caution the Tournament scheduled for 10/10/2020 on Lake Mitchell has been moved to 10/11/2020. The safety of our anglers is out number one priorty. North GA Couples kicks off 2021 season with double header on Lake Lanier.
October 3 brought post frontal winds and bluebird skies, starting the day off with waning harvest moon. With some fall transition it made for some challenging fishing but beautiful weather to be on the lake. With 8 teams fishing there was only one limit brought to the scales but all others had at least one keeper to weigh, with exception of one team who had to leave lake early due to boat problems.

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.
