Laney Wins Championship on Guntersville
Larry Laney of Brant, Alabama won the AFT D29 Divisional Championship held on August 6th and 7th out of Lake Guntersville. Larry caught ten bass weighing 37.80 pounds. Larry credited a spinnerbait, worm, and flipping heavy weeds for the victory.
Wes Ward placed second landing 35.21 pounds of fish and big bass of 6.37 pounds plying a combination of deep and topwater fish.
Rayburn Cloud finished third with 27.97 pounds. Rayburn relied heavily on a Texas rigged Ole Monster worm.
Fourth place finisher, Tony Tidwell, landed 27.79 pounds securing the final check and winning the Angler of the Year points race for D29. Tony will represent Division 29 in the AOY final round at the AFT Championship this fall.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
