David Wright Wins $10680.00 On Kerr Lake

ATHENS, Ala. –David Wright of Lexington, North Carolina won the American Bass Anglers Open Series Area 8 Championship held on Kerr Lake on November 3-4, 2018. Running out of Nutbush Park in Henderson, North Carolina, Wright weighed in a day one five-bass limit weighing 21.27-pounds. Wright anchored his catch with a bass weighing 5.74-pounds which also gave him big bass honors for the boaters. For his win and big bass Wright took home a total of $10,680.00.

“I caught all my fish fishing windblown points with a crankbait,” said Wright. “On day two the wind had changed directions, so I had to reposition my boat to fish the points differently.”

“I caught all my fish in dirty water on a spinnerbait and a jig,” said Reams. “I was able to get the better bite today.”

Taking third for the boaters, Spencer Barrow of Snow Hill, North Carolina finished with a two-day total of 26.95-pounds. Barrow collected $600.00 for his catch.

For his win, McIntyre took home a check for $5000.00.

“I caught all my fish dragging a jig both days. I was only looking for three bites a day. I was fortunate enough to get the right bites,” said McIntyre.

Taking second for the co-anglers, Scottie Smith of Clayton, North Carolina weighed in a two-day total of six-bass for 15.68-pounds. He took home $300.00 for the effort.
