Emery Takes the Win on Eucha Lake

Angler Rob Emery of Coweta, OK, dominated the field in ABA Division 65’s tournament held Saturday, June 22, 2019, with a nice bag weighing 19.80 lbs.  He also had a nice kicker fish weighing 7.40 lbs. to garner “big bass” honors for the day receiving over $325 in cash prizes for his effort.

Due to the extreme flooding conditions on Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees, the meet had to be moved to Lake Eucha located about 15 miles south of Grand Lake.  Eucha has a large spillway and has been the drinking water impoundment for the City of Tulsa, OK, since the lake was created in the 1930’s.  The lake is crystal clear and known to be full of big bass.

The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2019, on Grand Lake at the Terra Miranda Ramp located on Monkey Island, OK.  For more information about the Division 65 schedule, please contact AFT Director Jeff Davison at 918-289-6993 or like his Facebook page @ABAd65 to stay informed.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers BPSFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the BPSFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, BPSFT National Championship tournament.

The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler.  All anglers fish for both money and points.  The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour National Championship this fall on Lake Eufaula, AL.
