Randy Bush Wins On Oconee
Randy Bush of McDonough, GA took the win on January 18, 2020 for the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour D72 on Lake Oconee.
A total of 43 anglers competed on this cold winter day in muddy water with an approaching cold front.
Randy brought in a five fish limit totaling 16.05 lbs. which included a largemouth weighing 5.84 lbs. Randy said he caught most of his fish using a shaky head. He took home $796.00 cash and the first place trophy.
Sam Dyal won the trophy for Big Bass and the optional cash pot of $430.00 for his 6.20 pounder! Sam said he caught it on a crank bait.
His five fish limit totaled 15.64 lbs., and secured the second place spot for the day winning additional cash of $512.00 and another trophy.

The lucky winners were Les Charles, John Duvall, and Grant Kelly. The winner of a $50.00 Sugar Creek Marina gift card went to Dave Lawson.

The next tournament for D72 will be January 25, 2020 on Lake Sinclair going out of Dennis Station DNR ramp.

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers (ABA) Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) Angler of The Year (AOY) Final Round at the BPSFT National Championship.
In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, BPSFT National Championship tournament.
The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler.
All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the U.S. are invited to the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) National Championship.

New Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division Georgia Blue Ridge
Athens, AL November 13, 2020. Today American Bass Anglers announce the new American Fishing Tour Division 35 Georgia Blue Ridge division. Centered in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia, the new division will hold competitions on Lake Blue Ridge, Chatuge, and Nottley. The division will be directed by Andrew Murphy and assisted by Stephen Young.
North GA Couples kicks off 2021 season with double header on Lake Lanier.
October 3 brought post frontal winds and bluebird skies, starting the day off with waning harvest moon. With some fall transition it made for some challenging fishing but beautiful weather to be on the lake. With 8 teams fishing there was only one limit brought to the scales but all others had at least one keeper to weigh, with exception of one team who had to leave lake early due to boat problems.

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
