Bass Pro Shops Open Series To Eufaula, OK
May 6, 2020, Athens, AL. The third and fourth events of the season for the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Oklahoma Division will be held on Lake Eufaula on Saturday, May 16th, and Sunday, May 17th out of South Point Cove at 400 Lakeshore Dr, Eufaula, OK 74432.
Blake Capps of Muskogee, OK, is currently leading in the division after two impressive finishes on Tenkiller with 19 pounds and Ft Gibson with 16.28 pounds. The real challenge for anglers is four competitive finishes in a season to lock in Angler of the Year in a division.
John Simonof of Jacksonville, AR, believes it will take a good bag of bass to win the Eufaula tournament. “I excited we can all get back on the lake and compete,” said Simonof. “The last time we were at Eufaula, it took over 20 pounds to win, and I expect the fishing to be really great this year”, concluded Simonof.
In 2018 on Eufaula, Chris Jones had a solid day of fishing, landing a five-fish limit for 20.39 lbs. For the boater division victory, Chris took home a check for $5000.00, but that wasn’t all. He is also a Triton Gold member with his new Triton Boats 21 TRX an additional $7000.00 in Triton Gold, and a $1000.00 from Mercury Marine!
(2018 quote) “I fished down south today. I made a pretty good run. I caught my fish on a spinnerbait and a Bayou jig. I think I culled about 4 times, but I had my limit early. I stayed in one little area and just worked it as much as I could. I was able to start the morning off well and finished it up with a little over 20 lbs. I wasn’t sure it would win, but I knew I had a good chance at it. This is a great field of anglers, and this lake has the fish in it, this is great. I have been running a Triton boat and been a member of Triton Gold since 2001. I’m excited.” concluded Jones.
The Bass Pro Shops Open Series is a Pro-Am format and offers $5,000 first place with a minimum number of anglers. Boater Entry Fee for the Bass Pro Shops Open Series is $210, Co-Angler entry fee is $105.
