East Tennessee Heads to Douglas
July 6, 2020, Athens, AL. July 11 ABA and Bass Pro Shops will host the final East Tennessee Tournament of the season on Douglas Lake located in Dandridge, TN. The tournament will launch out of the Public Ramps at 100 Public Drive, Dandridge, TN 37725
The event is being held with a Bass Pro Shop very close in Kodak, TN. The Bass Pro Shops is open from 9 am – 8 pm and is located at 3629 Outdoor Sportsmans Place, Kodak, TN 37764.
In June of last year, Jonathan Pelfrey of Rockwood, TN, won on Douglas with 12.46 pounds. Pelfrey reported catching all his fish on a jig fishing deep meaning, 25-38-foot deep.
Bobby Tadlock of Clinton, TN, took second with weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 12.26 pounds in that event. “I was all over the place,” said Tadlock. “I was fishing anywhere from 5 to 20 feet. I’d run in and catch some on topwater then move out catching them on a 6XD and a Carolina rig.
Jeff Knight of Cleveland, TN, took third weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 12.01 pounds. “I flipped shallow all day,” said Knight. “I was flipping and kicking up mud with my trolling motor, and I flipped in and saw the mud boil, and I caught my biggest fish.”
It's very interesting to see how much the patterns differed on Douglas.
