Hamilton Wins The Potomac River Regional
Bill Hamilton of Huntington, MD won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series regional on the Potomac River on 9/12/13 2020. Running out of Smallwood State Park Hamilton weighed in five bass weighing 10.82 pounds on day one. Going into day two in second place Hamilton weighed in another five bass limit weighing 8.49 pounds for a total of 19.31 pounds securing the win. Hamilton took home $2700.00 for the win.
“I caught all my fish for both days throwing a weightless senko in the grass,” said Hamilton.
Taking second for the boaters, George Lambeth of Thomasville, NC weighed in a two-day total of 19.27 pounds.
“Day one was a better day for me,” said Lambeth. “Today I was only able to catch three. I caught all my fish on a pop r.”
Taking third for the boaters Kermit Crowder of Matoaca, VA weighed in a two-day total of 17.40 pounds. His second day limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.60 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. Crowder took home a total of $970.00.
“I messed up on day one,” said Crowder. “I had 5 good bites on topwater but was only able to land two of them. Today I couldn’t get a bite on topwater, so I switched to a rattle trap and caught three and I caught three more punching.”
In fourth place for the boaters, Otis Darnell of Linden, VA weighed in a two-day total of 14.76 pounds. Rounding out the top five Tom Bateman of Welcome MD weighed in a two day total of 13.60 pounds.
In the co-angler division Michael Slattery of Waldorf, MD weighed in two bass on day one weighing 6.42 pounds. Going into day two in second place Slattery weighed in two more bass on day two weighing 4.05 pounds giving him a two-day total of 10.47 pounds securing the win. Slattery also took co-angler big bass honors with a bass weighing 4.02 pounds. Slattery took home $1340.00 for his effort.
“On day one I caught the two fish I weighed in on a pop r and on day two I caught one on a pop r and one on a worm under a dock,” said Slattery.
In second place for the co-anglers, Larry Wigmore of Smyrna, DE weighed in a two day total of 10.03 pounds.
“On day one I caught my fish on a superhog fishing rocks and on day two my partner told me to throw a spinnerbait which I did and caught my all of my fish,” said Wigmore.
Taking third for the co-anglers, David Williams of Fredericksburg, VA weighed in a two-day total of 7.62 pounds.
Williams was not available for an interview.
In fourth place for the co-anglers, Patrick Chisler of Coats, NC weighed in a two day total of 7.58 pounds. Rounding out the top five, Joshua Luko of Coal Center, PA
Weighed in a two-day total of 7.41 pounds.
The top 10 anglers from each division in points and the top 5 boaters and co-anglers from the two-day regional will advance to the Ray Scott Championship in April 2021 on Lake Chickamauga.

New Schedule and Directors for Kansas Division 58
Athens, AL January 22, 2020. Today American Bass Anglers announce new directors for American Fishing Tour Division 58 located in southeastern Kansas. Becky Minor and Mark Moody. Becky Minor has been running events in Kansas for over 20 years.
The division will center around Big Hill Lake which is one of the interesting lakes in Kansas. Located in Labette County about 5 miles east of Cherryvale, Kansas, Big Hill is known as one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in Kansas. It has a max depth of 60 and holds a good population of both Large and quality Smallmouth bass.

North GA Couples kicks off 2021 season with double header on Lake Lanier.
October 3 brought post frontal winds and bluebird skies, starting the day off with waning harvest moon. With some fall transition it made for some challenging fishing but beautiful weather to be on the lake. With 8 teams fishing there was only one limit brought to the scales but all others had at least one keeper to weigh, with exception of one team who had to leave lake early due to boat problems.
Hamlin Wins Florida South Opener
ATHENS, Ala. – Trevor Hamlin of Cape Coral, FL, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida South tournament held January 23rd on Lake Okeechobee.
Running out of Roland Martin Marina & Resort in Clewiston, FL the Cape Coral, FL angler caught five bass weighing 17.57 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, Hamlin took home a check for $5200 for his win.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
