Stone Wins on Greers Ferry

In a closely contested event at Greers Ferry Lake, Rob Stone emerged victorious in the American Bass Anglers D47 Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour's third seasonal tournament.

Despite challenging conditions that resulted in a slower than usual bite rate, several competitors managed to land noteworthy catches. Stone distinguished himself with a remarkable haul of smallmouth bass, totaling 11.46 pounds, securing first place. His impressive performance was further highlighted by the largest bass catch of the tournament, weighing in at 3.01 pounds. Stone credited his success to effective use of a Carolina rig and jig.

Mark Hensiek claimed the second spot with a commendable limit of 9.81 pounds, primarily caught using a jig. The third position was earned by H2O Pro Staffer BJ Knowles, who also reached the limit with a catch of 8.59 pounds, utilizing an Alabama rig and crankbait to great effect.

The prize winnings were allocated as follows: Rob Stone received $337 for his first-place finish, along with an additional $50 for the biggest bass catch. Mark Hensiek was awarded $153 for his second-place achievement.

The upcoming tournament is scheduled for December 9th at Lake Ouachita, launching from the Mountain Harbor ramp. Competitors and spectators alike eagerly anticipate another round of thrilling angling competition.

It is worth noting that these dedicated anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will have the opportunity to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. Furthermore, the top 500 anglers across various divisions will earn the privilege of competing in the prestigious three-day ABA 2024 AFT National Championship tournament.
