Jeffers Wins on Lake Sinclair

Dublin, GA native Scott Jeffers took the win at the AFT D72 tournament, held on February 17, 2024, at Lake Sinclair. Jeffers clinched the first-place position with a five bass limit, tipping the scales at 16.95 pounds. His victory earned him the first-place trophy along with a cash prize of $796.

Travis Clay, hailing from Jackson, GA, seized the Big Bass trophy and an additional $430 in optional Big Bass cash with an impressive bass weighing 7.62 pounds. The tournament drew a total of 43 skilled anglers vying for a share of the $2,107 payout distributed among the top seven placements.

Following the distribution of trophies and cash prizes, four anglers received $50 bills as draw prizes. Congratulations to Alan Swink, Randy Smith, Niles Murray, and Barry Collins on their wins. Moreover, Terry Adams walked away with a $200 gift certificate for a Kissel Krafts custom rod, while Swinton Sikes secured a $100 custom wooden flag.

Benny Howell is the current reining King of the Hill, an award presented at the end of each season to the top director of that season. 

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
