David Brunaugh Wins on Kentucky Lake

On March 9, 2024, at Kentucky Lake, David Brunaugh of Carbondale, IL, secured victory at the American Fishing Tour Division 32 event. This tournament, part of the American Fishing Tour, attracted skilled anglers from the region, all vying for cash prizes and crucial divisional and national points. Anglers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana participated in the competition.

Brunaugh emerged as the leader, boasting a four-fish bag weighing 11.87 pounds, including the event’s big bass at 4.72 pounds. His impressive haul earned him the first-place cash prize of $521, including the big bass pot.

Skeeter Bone from Clarksville, TN, secured second place with a five-fish limit weighing 11.69 pounds, earning $187.

Harold Troutt from Buchanan, TN, claimed third place with another five-fish limit weighing 11.40 pounds.

Andy Tyler of Paris, TN, earned fourth place. He brought in four fish weighing 11.05 pounds.

The tournament day presented challenges, with northwest winds gusting up to 25 mph throughout.

These anglers accumulated valuable points towards the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will advance to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. Additionally, the top 500 anglers from various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The next Division 32 tournament is scheduled for March 23, 2024, at Kentucky Lake. For special instructions and further details, interested parties can contact Division Director Bill Stines at 731-924-9206. All tournaments will be trailering tournaments, with weigh-ins conducted at Gray’s Landing.
