March 29, 2025 | Lakeville, Massachusetts. Despite cold, dreary, and windy conditions, Corey Gillis claimed victory at the American Bass Anglers – Division 5 American Fishing Tour (AFT) event held on Long Pond in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Gillis brought in an impressive five-fish limit totaling 20.30 pounds, securing first place and the tournament’s Big Bass honors.
Gillis found success targeting bass holding on structure and rocky areas, coaxing bites in the chilly 48-degree water. His bag was anchored by a 6.76-pound largemouth, which earned him the Big Bass award. For his win, Gillis received $600 for first place and an additional $480 for Big Bass, bringing his total payout to $1,080. He also took home first-place and Big Bass trophies.
Matty Z secured second place with a five-fish limit weighing 15.34 pounds, earning $360. He also won a Douglas spinning rod in a random draw and received a second-place trophy.
