I am a 24 year veteran of our nations highways. I drive a tractor trailer for a living.

What you should know about Jack:

Let's see I'm a hard working loveable huggable kinda guy but very competitive who loves to enjoy the positive side of life. Win lose or draw it still was a good day fishing. As far as personally I'm funny at times im serious at times not so smart at times and brilliant at times but most of all I'm the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Ask my family they say that they broke the mold when they made me.

How Jack started fishing

Gotta thank my parents for getting me started at an early age. We went fishing and camping as much as possible. First fish i remeber catching was a sucker as we call it in ny. Not sure how old i was, but i had to be young,  because it was big enough that i had to be held by the seat of my pants or it was going to pull me in.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

As most of us, i want to go as far as i can with this. I want to fish in top series at some point. Looking forward to having american bass anglers as my first step towards a career in competitive fishing. This is 24/7 for me, just ask my relatives, i annoy them so much about tournament fishing.

Favorite way to fish

I'm not quite sure how to answer this. My first instinct is to say fully clothed on a bass boat using a top water bait no matter what the weather is. 

Most exciting fishing experience

I would have a couple. Of course 1st would be as i explained a few questions before when i was a kid. 2nd I'm not sure if you would call this exciting but, it was very memorable. That's when i saved Ed Burgess from drowning while he was teaching some fishing techniques. 3rd would be when i caught an 8lb bass at my home lake, oh what a feeling.

How Jack preps for a tournament

I do the best research i can for that body of water. Google 🌎, youtube videos that people have put on there from that body of water, topographical maps, and weather reports. Do my best to fish it also if possible. As far as gear, string new line, decide what to use and where. Come up with a game plan to start then make adjustments along the way.

Three favorite search baits

Simple top water baits, spinner baits, crankbaits for me. 

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

I placed 2nd out of 4 at otisco lake div 4 in ny. I know only 4 but it's my best finish. I had never been on this lake before and we started at the south end of the lake so i went to north end to see the whole lake and figure where i wanted to start. I found a cove that went from shallow to deep water with good weedlines. I stayed there the whole day at the north end and fished the weedlines, docks and whatever isolated structure i could find. I used a combination of dropshot spinnerbaits crankbaits rebel pop r and skipping a ned rig under docks. 

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

For me right now is finding big fish. Plus budgeting my truck driving career to where i can be home in time for the tournaments i want to fish. Would love to learn the business of how to get a sponsor, what i can do to help them promote their products and what to do to keep them as a sponsor. Ultimately the hardest thing is turning this part time tournament fishing into full time tournament fishing.

When tournaments don't go my way

It's not the end of the world for me. I try to analyze each tournament for what i did wrong and learn from it. Each body of water is different and each event is different they are learning experiences for me.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Time on the water the more you do it the better you get. Be a sponge take every avenue you can to learn from and about every aspect of this sport. Be versatile don't get stuck with just your confidence baits learn how to catch fish on stuff you don't like to use. It will help in the long run. Be a good sport about competition and play fair.

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

I'd say fish top water baits spinnerbaits and weedless worms to start. Percentages are high to get bit. Plus top water is scary when you first do it. You don't know what to expect and when it happens it's an omg moment.  The you want that feeling again and again and again.
