DelVisco Wins Professional League on Lake Martin

ATHENS, Ala- Michael DelVisco won the 2024 American Bass Anglers Professional League, Presented by Caymas Boats, Alabama South Division 2 tournament, held May 4TH, 2024 on Lake Martin.

Running out of Wind Creek State Park in Alexander City, AL, the Dandridge, TN, angler caught five basses weighing 10.84 pounds, including a 4.93-pound kicker largemouth. DelVisco took home a check for $2450 for his win and an additional $280 for the big bass award.

“I was fishing within 2 to 3 miles of Wind Creek State Park. I was looking for little cuts fishing bluegill beds. I caught every fish on a wacky worm, Senko. I caught that big bass on Wacky Worm first this morning in about 5 feet of water. Pretty much while it was raining pretty well, I wasn’t paying much attention, and my line swam away. I set the hook, and it was that big bass. I’ll take that anytime. “DelVisco said.

Second place, Cliff Avery of Bonaire, GA, landed a 5-bass limit weighing 9.75 pounds. He earned $1200 for his catch.

“I caught my fish on top water and a 2.8 KeitechUSA swimbait. Just fishing points within a couple of miles of Wind Creek State Park. I had some that thumped it pretty hard, but little ones will thump it too.” Avery said.

Justin Barnes of Ellaville, GA, took the third spot. He landed a 5-bass limit of 9.01 pounds and earned $900 for the effort.

“I caught a good fish this morning on top and everything else on jerkbait. I probably caught 40 fish today, I had a three pounder that came off but you know it happens, part of the game. “Barnes said.

Bo Washam of Midland, GA, and Jonathan White of Bessemer, AL, finished in a tie for fourth place. They each landed a 5-bass limit weighing 8.37 pounds.

At the end of the season, the best anglers from across the nation advance the 2024 Ray Scott Championship to be held at Lake Eufaula in April, 2025.
