Pegues Wins Two-Day on Lake Jordan

Prattville, AL, May 19, 2024 – Tommy Pegues III from Montgomery, Alabama, triumphed in the American Fishing Tour District 24 Divisional Two-Day championship, organized by American Bass Anglers. Pegues secured the win with a two-day total weight of 27.55 pounds, including the Big Bass for Day 2 at 4.12 pounds. His victory earned him $850, plus an additional $65 for the Big Bass.

Joe Minor claimed second place with a total weight of 26.17 pounds and earned $424. Kenny Turner received $65 for catching the Big Bass on Day 1 with a 4.88-pounder.

Day 1 of the tournament took place at Jordan Lake, launching from the State Ramp near Wetumpka, Alabama. At the same time, Day 2 was held on the Alabama River, launching from Cooters Pond Park near Prattville, Alabama.

Participants in this tournament earn valuable points towards the Divisional Angler of the Year title. Points champions from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. Additionally, the top 500 anglers from various divisions will qualify for the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The American Fishing Tour offers low-cost, local bass tournaments designed for weekend anglers. Participants compete for both money and points, which advance them to their divisional championship. The top 500 anglers in the U.S. are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship this fall on Lake Murray.
