March 7, 2026, Alabama River – Barry Woodward from Mobile, AL, claimed victory at the American Fishing Tour Division 24 tournament held at Cooters Pond Park near Prattville, AL on March 7. The event, part of the American Fishing Tour, attracted top anglers from the area, all competing for cash and important divisional and national points.
Woodward topped the leaderboard with a total catch of 16.40 pounds anchored by a 4.29-pound big bass. This impressive haul earned him the first-place cash prize of $406.
In second place was Bryson Caudle from Elmore, AL, securing it with a total weight of 14.61 pounds, including a notable 4.42-pound bass that won Big Bass for the tournament. For second, Caudle received $200 plus another $70 for Big Bass.
In third place, Tommy Pegues III from Montgomery, AL showcased his skill with a total catch of 14.34 pounds anchored by a 4.37-pounder. For third, he was awarded $79.

The Higgins Ferry Ramp near Clanton, AL, will serve as the launch site for the tournament. These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament to be held on October 7-9, 2026 on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama.
