Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees once again proved why it is considered one of the premier bass fisheries in the Midwest as anglers from across the region gathered in Grove, Oklahoma, on May 20, 2026, for American Fishing Tour Division 65 competition. With warm spring conditions, healthy water levels, and Grand Lake’s famous structure-filled waters, the stage was set for an exciting showdown where every ounce mattered.
When the scales closed, it was Sheldon Collings who emerged on top after bringing in a strong five-bass limit weighing 19.14 pounds. Anchored by a solid 4.52-pound largemouth bass, Collings’ catch was enough to secure the Division 65 victory and the $540 first-place payday.
The finish was one of the tightest of the season, with the top three anglers separated by only 0.18 pounds. Brad Cook made a late push and finished in a razor-close second place with 19.10 pounds, earning $300 for his efforts.

Just behind him was Kyle Kitts, who narrowly missed the check line with 18.96 pounds in third place.

Kitts did, however, capture Big Bass honors for the event with an impressive 5.04-pound largemouth bass, earning an additional $140 bonus and proving Grand Lake’s reputation for producing quality fish continues to hold strong.
