Park Hill, OK – The American Bass Anglers Pro League event scheduled for April 26th on Lake Tenkiller has been canceled due to hazardous conditions caused by recent heavy rainfall. Division Tournament Manager Chris Wayand made the decision after consulting with anglers and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers representatives.

“Oklahoma has seen significant rainfall over the past several days, which has caused a rapid rise in lake levels,” said Wayand. “As a result, the lake is filled with floating debris, creating extremely dangerous boating conditions. The safety of our anglers is always our top priority, and we will not place them in unsafe conditions.”
Wayand emphasized that while competitive fishing is important, it must always be conducted under safe and stable conditions. “Fishing should be an enjoyable experience. With the current hazards on the water, it’s best to postpone and return when the lake is in better shape.”
The tournament will be rescheduled for a later date in the year. A new date will be announced once new permits and ramp reservations are confirmed. Wayand added, “We’ll work to avoid conflicts with other trails and ensure everything is coordinated properly. In the meantime, stay safe, and I look forward to seeing everyone at Texoma.”
