Joe Anders Wins at Hartwell

Hartwell, GA – April 28, 2024 – The American Fishing Tour Division 25 – South Carolina Northwest, presented by American Bass Anglers, concluded with Joe Anders of Easley, SC, clinching the first place. The event, held at the Gum Branch Tournament Facility near Hartwell, GA, saw twenty-seven participants engage in a competitive day of fishing.

Anders emerged victorious with a total catch weighing 15.55 lbs, including a notable 3.63 lb. bass, securing the top spot and a $660 cash prize. Additionally, he won the first-place option pot, boosting his total earnings to $810.

Lane Clark of Anderson, SC, achieved second place with a catch of 14.08 lbs, highlighted by a 3.61 lb. bass. This earned him $404 plus an additional $100 from the second-place option pot, totaling $504.

Matthew Benson from Watkinsville, GA, landed in third place with a total weight of 13.62 lbs, taking home $144.

Justin Raines, also from Easley, SC, secured fourth place with 12.73 lbs, including a 3.15 lb. bass, and earned $115.

The tournament also recognized Bradley Day of Anderson, SC, for catching the Biggest Bass, weighing 4.01 lbs, which won him a plaque and $130.

Top 25

Participants in these events accumulate points towards the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will qualify for the American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. Moreover, the top 500 anglers from various divisions will compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament to be held this fall on Lake Murray in Columbia, SC.
