Todd Rourke Wins on Quinsigamond

November 3, 2024, Worcester, MA  – Todd Rourke of Upton, Massachusetts, took home first place in the American Fishing Tour’s Division 36 Early Bird event held on November 3, 2024, at Quinsigamond Lake. The tournament drew some of the best anglers from the region, all vying for cash prizes and crucial divisional and national points.

Rourke led the field with a total catch of 9.88 pounds in challenging conditions and secured the win with a top prize of $559. His well-executed strategy and persistence helped him land the right fish when it mattered most.

Sheron Brown from Leominster took second place with a total weight of 8.38 pounds, which included the tournament’s largest bass, weighing 3.66 pounds. This impressive catch earned him a $771 payout, including a $440 bonus for the lunker.

In third place, Quincy Ortiz of Belchertown displayed strong angling with an 8.34-pound total catch, earning a prize of $108.

The event saw competitive showings from Dennis Reardon, Mike Mercier, and James Mercier, who each finished in the top six. Their skill and efforts added to the tournament’s competitive atmosphere, keeping the leaderboard tight and the competition fierce.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA AFT National Championship tournament to be held in October 2025 on Lake Eufaula.

These tournaments are crucial for anglers as they accumulate points toward the coveted Divisional Angler of the Year title. Points champions from each division will compete in the American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round, held at the AFT Championship. Additionally, the top 500 anglers from all divisions will qualify for the three-day ABA AFT National Championship, taking place next October on Lake Eufaula.
