Godwin Wins on Lake Mitchell

April 1, 2023, Clanton, AL.  Twenty-three anglers launched from Higgins Ferry Park near Clanton, AL.  Eighteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits but when the scales closed Hunter Godwin of Maplesville, AL took the victory with 14.41 pounds anchored by a 4.41 pound lunker.  For the victory, Godwin took home $579 in prize money plus another $115 for Big Bass.

Second place was claimed by Clint Miller with five and a total weight of 14.23 pounds.  For his efforts Miller took home $346 in prize money.

Blake Davenport took third with five and a total weight of 13.20 pounds. He took home $115 in prize money.   

Fourth place was caught by Joe Minor with five and a total weight of 12.50 pounds.  For his efforts, he took home $86.

The next tournament in this division will be the two-day tournament on May 6 and 7, 2023.  On May 6, the launch will be from the State Park Ramp on Lake Jordan while on May 7 will launch from Cooters Park Boat Ramp on the Alabama River.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
