Duane Houk takes win on Clarks Hill

December 3, 2023, The Clark’s Hill Reservoir in McCormick, South Carolina, was the site for the American Fishing Tour Division 25 – South Carolina Northwest tournament at the Dorn Fishing Facility. Duane Houk, a resident of Evans, South Carolina, emerged as the tournament champion after he brought five fish to the scales, totaling 14.53 pounds, including a notable 5.95-pound largemouth bass. For his outstanding performance, Houk received the first-place plaque and a cash prize of $765. He also claimed the first place option pot, adding an extra $216 to his winnings for a total prize of $981.

Curtis Temples from Saluda, South Carolina, secured the second-place position with a solid five-fish limit weighing 14.46 pounds, anchored by a 4.88-pound fish. Temples received the second-place plaque and a cash prize of $487. Additionally, he took home the second place option pot, boosting his total earnings to $631.

Sterling Banks, hailing from Beech Island, South Carolina, secured third place with a five-fish bag weighing 12.58 pounds, including a 3.99-pound fish. Banks received a cash prize of $221 in recognition of his angling prowess.

Dustin Williamson of Aiken, South Carolina, secured fourth place with a five-fish limit weighing 11.99 pounds, featuring a 3.85-pound kicker. Williamson earned $166 in cash for his performance.

Bobby Stanfill, representing Greenwood, South Carolina, claimed fifth place with a five-fish limit weighing 11.91 pounds, earning him a cash prize of $130.

Bradley Day from Anderson, South Carolina, secured the sixth and final paid position with a five-fish sack weighing 11.60 pounds, resulting in a cash prize of $94.

The tournament’s Biggest Bass was caught by Duane Houk, weighing an impressive 5.95 pounds, earning him a plaque and an additional $190 in cash.

The Gum Branch Tournament Facility in Hartwell, Georgia, will serve as the launch site. These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
