Morey and Smith Win on Eufaula

The Southern Alabama Team Series Division held its inaugural event this past Saturday on Lake Eufaula, launching from Lake Point Marina. The winning team of the event was Jeff Morey and Richard Smith, who led the field with a limit weighing 22.70 pounds.

The event, took place under conditions of muddy water, light winds, and clear skies, presenting a wide array of fishing opportunities across the entirety of the lake, from shallow to deep waters.

Morey and Smith utilized plastic baits in the northern sections of the lake, their approach netted them a prize of $1,340.

In a close second place, George Haynie and Dwayne Smith presented a limit of bass weighing 20.47 pounds, securing a prize of $670. Additionally, this team captured the big bass pot of $300 with a notable 7.15-pound largemouth bass caught in the southern shallow waters of Lake Eufaula.

Placing third place, Jimmy Harrison and Hubert Stafford were awarded $500, having a limit of fish weighing 19.92 pounds. Their successful catches were attributed to the use of Carolina rigs in the southern areas of the lake.
