Andy Lake Wins on Russell

May 11, 2024, Elberton, GA — Andy Lake from Batesburg, SC, secured victory at the Division 25 South Carolina Northwest Tournament held on Lake Russell. Despite the rain and crowds, the anglers launched from the Highway 72 ramp between Elberton, GA, and Calhoun Falls, SC. Out of these, 12 anglers returned with five-fish limits to the scales.

Andy Lake topped the competition with a total weight of 17.53 pounds, including a 4.25-pound largemouth bass. He earned $522, a first-place plaque, and an additional $96 from the first-place option pot, totaling $618. Congratulations, Andy!

Matthew Benson from Watkinsville, GA, finished second with a total weight of 13.16 pounds, including a 3.89-pound fish. He received a plaque, $308 in cash, and an additional $64 from the second-place option pot.

Josh Morton of Duncan, SC, claimed third place with a total weight of 12.08 pounds, including a 3.48-pound spotted bass, earning him $101 in cash.

Andy Lake also caught the tournament’s biggest bass, a 4.25-pound largemouth, earning him an additional $85 and a plaque. Great job, Andy!

The next event in this division is the 2-day Divisional Championship on June 1st and 2nd, 2024, at Clark’s Hill Lake, launching from Dorn Fishing Facility in McCormick, SC.
