Matt Henry Wins AFT D72 on Lake Sinclair

Matt Henry of Milledgeville, Georgia, claimed victory at the AFT Division 72 tournament on January 18, 2025, held on Lake Sinclair. Henry secured first place with an impressive five-bass limit weighing 17.86 pounds, earning the top trophy and $745 in cash. His winning catch was anchored by a notable 6.74-pound bass.

Aaron Batson finished in second place with a five-bass total of 17.21 pounds, earning a trophy and $470. Batson’s catch included a solid 4.24-pound bass.

Sam Montgomery rounded out the top three with a total weight of 17.08 pounds, taking home a trophy and $203 in prize money. Montgomery also captured the Big Bass award for the tournament with a remarkable 7.34-pound largemouth bass, adding $360 to his winnings.

The event drew 36 anglers competing for six payout spots, with total cash prizes amounting to $1,764.

Additional Highlights

Following the awards presentation, several anglers won draw prizes. Chris Lumpkin and Dakota Kelly each received $50, while Tony Wooten won a $100 gift certificate for a custom wooden flag from Captain Kidd’s Designs.
