Lake Toho, Kissimmee, FL – Christopher Maxwell secured the top spot at the March 15, 2025, American Fishing Tour (AFT) Division 21 event held on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. Anglers from across the region competed for cash prizes and crucial points toward divisional and national standings.
Maxwell claimed first place with a five-fish limit weighing 20.81 pounds. Warmer water conditions had moved bass into shallow spawning areas, and Maxwell capitalized by flipping lily pads and emergent grass on Lake Toho. His performance earned him the top prize of $666.
Second place went to Mike Calloway, who also weighed in a five-fish limit totaling 15.44 pounds. Calloway took home $414 for his efforts.

Raymond Trudeau finished third with a total weight of 14.94 pounds, including a notable 7.62-pound largemouth bass. Trudeau earned $147 for his catch.

James Hoctor placed fourth, weighing in 12.69 pounds and winning $115. He also captured the tournament’s Big Bass award with an impressive 8.00-pound catch, adding a $560 bonus to his earnings.

Josiah Beasley rounded out the top five, weighing 12.47 pounds and earning $79.

Other notable performances included David Kilbury in sixth place with 11.58 pounds and William Flood finishing seventh with 9.46 pounds.
Fishing conditions indicated the Florida spawning season was beginning to taper off, although some anglers still found big bass on beds. Popular techniques included flipping lily pads, brush piles, and emergent grass. Successful baits ranged from speed worms, and chatter baits to rattle traps pulled through submerged grass.
