Smith Wins Top 150 Solo on Lake Toho

ATHENS, Ala. –Jeremy Smith won the 2025 American Bass Anglers Top 150 Solo, Presented by Caymas Boats, Florida Division 3 tournament, held April 25TH & 26TH , 2025 on Lake Toho.

Running out of Kissimmee Lakefront Park in Kissimmee, FL, the Auburndale, FL angler caught a two-day total of ten bass weighing 53.31 pounds, including a 9.81-pound lunker. For the Pro Division victory, Smith took home a check for $5000 for his win and an additional $1000 for the big bass award.

“I started in Toho yesterday and today, and I had a limit both days. I caught a couple of good ones both days, throwing a rattle trap and casting a worm. Then I ran down to Kissimmee about 9:00am and just fishing brush piles down there. I was throwing square bills and big worms on them. I was fishing super slow, it seemed like it took about 15 minutes per brush pile to get a bite on it. I ran a bunch of piles in two days, so I’m worn out. I caught that big bass out of a brush pile, funny thing was the day before the tournament started I went to check this pile and threw on it. I have a rod rigged up with no hook and first cast to throw over there and pull off it, it just starts cruising and I’m pulling on it because I could tell it was really heavy and I said huh I hope that fish is there tomorrow. I pulled up on it yesterday, and second cast, she ate, so it was meant to be. “ Smith said.

Second place for the pros, Cliff Prince of Palatka, FL landed a two-day total of ten bass weighing 50.30 pounds. For his finish, Prince took home a check for $2500.

“I caught all my fish on chatterbait, fishing outside grass lines, and that’s pretty much what I did all day, both days. On day one, I stayed on Toho until 10:00 am and left here with 5 lbs, and I ran down to Kissimmee and caught what I had. Then today I went straight down to Kissimmee and fished all day.” Prince said.

Donald Tripoli of Webster, NY took the third spot for the pros. He landed a two-day total of ten bass going 45.82 pounds. He earned $2000 for the effort.

“I stayed here on Lake Toho both days, just fishing some grass with a worm. I basically had one area I just kept working through there both days and got what I got.” Tripoli said.

Finishing fourth, Andrew Hall of Tampa, FL, landed a two-day total of ten bass going 44.94 pounds. Steve “Boogieman” Brown of Kissimmee, FL rounded out the top five boaters with a two-day total of ten bass going 42.34 pounds.

At the end of the season, the top 15 anglers from each of the 4 divisions across the nation advance to the 2025 Top 150 Solo Championship, which will be held in October 2025.
