April 18, 2026, Clanton, Alabama – Michael Hill from Millbrook, AL, clinched victory at the Division 24 tournament held at Higgins Ferry Park on April 18, 2026. The event, part of the American Fishing Tour, attracted top anglers from the area, all competing for cash and important divisional and national points. Hill topped the leaderboard with a total catch of 14.21 pounds, earning him a cash prize of $522.
In second place was Tommy Pegues III from Montgomery, AL, securing it with a total weight of 13.35 pounds. For second Pegues received $308.
In third place, Jeremy Renfroe from Trussville, AL showcased his skill with a total catch of 12.79 pounds, including a 3.33-pound lunker. This impressive haul earned him third-place with a cash prize of $101 and Big Bass of the tournament earned him an additional cash bonus of $95.
Qualified anglers can look forward to the next exciting competition in this division, the required two-day scheduled for May 2 & 3, 2026. The Alabama River tournament launches from Cooter’s Pond Park on the 2nd while the State Park Ramp near Prattville will serve as the launch site for Lake Jordan on the 3rd. These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament to be held October 3-9, 2026 on Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama.
