Adams Wins Professional League on Lake Sinclair

On March 23, 2024, in Eatonton, Georgia, the American Bass Anglers Professional League’s Georgia Division 8 tournament, sponsored by Caymas Boats, concluded with Terry Adams of Mansfield, GA, claiming the top position. The event took place at Lake Sinclair, with competitors launching from Dennis Station. Adams secured his victory in the Boater Division by catching five bass with a total weight of 20.08 pounds, earning a prize of $4,600.

Adams shared that his success came primarily in the afternoon, on the lake’s lower end, attributing his catch to the use of buzzbait in the murkier waters, aiming at spawning fish.

Noah Campbell from Madison, GA, achieved second place with a catch of five bass totaling 19.52 pounds, receiving $2,500. Campbell noted his technique involved using a jig to navigate through bank grass at various points around the lake, leading to a substantial catch of approximately 25 fish.

“I caught all my fish swimming a jig through bank grass on both ends of the lake. I probably caught 25 fish today, 20 of those were 2-pounders. It was a fun day. ”Campbell said.

Mark Whidby of Haddock, GA, earned third place with a catch of five bass weighing 18.50 pounds, for which he was awarded $1,800. Whidby’s strategy involved fishing close to the main lake area using a swim jig and a chatterbait.

“I caught my fish on a swim jig and a chatterbait right around the main lake area, not far from here. “Whidby said.

In fourth place, Scott Bassett of Atlanta, GA, presented a catch of five bass weighing 17.21 pounds. Following him, Brian Jamison of Greensboro, GA, completed the top five with a catch of five bass weighing 16.93 pounds.

The Big Bass Award was presented to Brian Thompson Jr. of Kathleen, GA, for a largemouth bass weighing 7.46 pounds, caught on a Rapala DT16 at a depth of 32 feet around noon, earning him $710.

“I caught that big bass on a Rapala DT16 in 32ft of water around noon.” Thompson said.
