April 30, 2023, Springfield IL. Mike Riggs of Mt Olive IL won the American Fishing Tour (IL 39) tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Lindsey ramp near Springfield IL Riggs brought back a 5 fish limit that locked in the scales at 16.79 anchored by a 6.47 kicker. For the victory, Riggs took home a check for $377.00.
The weather was very cold and windy, with Mike Riggs weighing in the only limit of the day. It was a very tough tournament day. Riggs won the tournament and the Big Bass weighed 6.47.
Second place was claimed by Dave Blume with 2 fish and a total weight of 5.80. For his efforts, Blume took home $153.00 in prize money.
The next tournament in this division will take place on May 28th on the Calumet/Saganashkee launching from the Water Front Pub ramp .

The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
