July 1st, 2023, Channahon IL. Austin Moore of Washburn IL won the American Fishing Tour (IL 39) tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Big Basin near Channahon IL Moore brought back a 5 fish limit that locked in the scales at 13.06 pounds. For the victory, Moore took home a check for $407.
The weather was a bit rainy but warm and no storms as predicted, with all the fishermen weighing in the fish that day. Overall, it was a great tournament day.
Second place was claimed by Andrew Blunier with 5 fish and a total weight of 12.49. Andrew also took home Big Bass honors with a 4.75-pounder. Blunier took home $270 for his efforts.
The next tournament in this division will take place on the Morris Pool of the Illinois River launching from the Seneca City ramp on July 29th.
