Lake Lanier, January 13, 2024 – Alex Prince from Blue Ridge, GA, emerged the winner at the American Fishing Tour Division Number 125 tournament, held at Lake Lanier. This prestigious event, a fixture in the American Fishing Tour, drew some of the most skilled anglers from the region, all vying for cash prizes and vital divisional and national points.
Prince led the field with an exceptional total catch of 22.08 pounds, highlighted by a magnificent 7.78-pound Largemouth bass. His performance not only earned him the first-place plaque but also a substantial cash prize of $824.00. Prince’s strategy, adapting to the stained waters of Lake Lanier following heavy rainfall, proved decisive in securing his top position.
Nick Treadwell, from Powder Springs, GA, claimed the second spot with a notable total weight of 16.55 pounds, receiving $548.00 in prize money. Closely following was Joshua ‘JB’ Banks from Gainesville, GA, who showcased his angling skill with a catch totaling 16.41 pounds, earning him $281.00 and third place.
The competition was heightened by strong showings from other participants, including Scott Laughman, Dalton Tankersley, and Richie Brown, who all finished among the top six. Their efforts contributed significantly to the event’s competitive atmosphere.
Additionally, Alex Prince’s 7.78-pound Largemouth bass was recognized as the Biggest Bass of the tournament, earning him an additional accolade and a cash bonus of $240.00.
