Keith Williamson Wins at Clarks Hill

On March 24, 2024, in McCormick, SC, Keith Williamson of North Augusta, SC, emerged victorious at the American Fishing Tour Division 25 – South Carolina Northwest event. Hosted at the Dorn Fishing Facility, Williamson excelled among thirty-three competitors, securing the top position with a total catch of 20.50 lbs, including a notable 6.71 lb largemouth bass.

Williamson’s win earned him a first-place plaque and $723 in cash, along with an additional $186 from the first-place option pot, totaling $909 in earnings.

Following closely was Bobby Stanfill of Greenwood, SC, who clinched second place with a five-fish limit weighing 16.77 lbs, highlighted by a 5.67 lb largemouth, and took home $454 plus $124 from the second place option pot, for a total of $578.

The third place was awarded to Jacob Butts of Starr, SC, who brought in five fish totaling 14.58 lbs, winning $187.

Phil Morris of Saluda, SC, claimed fourth place with a catch of 14.56 lbs, earning $144.

Duane Houk of Evans, GA, rounded out the top five with 14.42 lbs, taking home $108.

In addition to his tournament victory, Williamson also captured the title for the Biggest Bass, reeling in a 6.71 lb largemouth, which added another $165 to his winnings.

The upcoming tournament for this division is scheduled for April 28, 2024, at Lake Hartwell, launching from the Gum Branch Tournament Facility in Hartwell, GA.

Anglers competing in these events accumulate points contributing to the divisional angler of the year title, with the points champion from each division set to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. Additionally, the top 500 anglers from various divisions will qualify for the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament this fall at Lake Murray near Columbia, SC.
