American Fishing Tour Tournaments This Weekend

The American Fishing Tour (AFT) is ready to host a series of bass fishing tournaments this weekend, ideal for the avid weekend angler. With a low entry fee and a focus on local participation, the AFT offers a unique draw format where participants can bring and use their own boats. The upcoming events, scheduled across various states, will provide participants with an opportunity to compete close to home and possibly secure a spot in the national standings.

Tournament Details and Locations

  • Tensaw / Cliffs Landing, Alabama – Mobile (04/13/2024): Directed by Barry Woodward, this tournament will take place in the Tensaw River delta, a diverse ecosystem known for its brackish waters and abundance of bass. Contact: (251) 423-0753.
  • AR River / Maumelle Park, Arkansas (04/13/2024): Anglers will navigate the expansive Arkansas River under the guidance of Eric Turner, challenging themselves in its varied riverine environment. Contact: (501) 952-1514.
  • Lillinonah / Steel Bridge, Connecticut (04/13/2024): Managed by AJ Said, Lake Lillinonah is known for its deep, clear waters and scenic beauty, making it a popular spot for large bass. Contact: (845) 596-6089.

  • Pascagoula / Indian Point, Mississippi Gulf Coast (04/13/2024): Joel Davis directs this event in the briny waters of the Gulf, offering a unique challenge for bass fishing. Contact: (228) 860-9907.
  • Double Header Tuckertown / Flat Creek and Badin / Circle Dr., North Carolina – Charlotte (04/13 & 04/14/2024): Directed by Lance Eckford, these lakes are known for their large populations of both largemouth and spotted bass. Contact: (919) 628-3383.

Tournament Format and Entry

Anglers can register the morning of the event prior to the safety briefing. The entry fees are $70 for one-day events and $140 for two-day division championships. The unique draw formats; anglers just show up, ready to compete. Payouts are calculated at 1 place per 7 anglers, ensuring a fair chance at winnings.

Members Exempt from any late fees: Active Military, ABA Life Members, Visiting Directors, Caymas Boat Owners, ABA Platinum Members, and New and Renewing Members (at the event).
