Garland Takes The Win On High Rock

ATHENS, Ala. – Jared Austin Garland took top honors in the 2024 American Bass Anglers Professional League, Presented by Caymas Boats, North Carolina Division, held on High Rock Lake on 4-13-24.

Garland, from Kernersville, North Carolina, was able to put together a five-bass limit weighing 20.07 lbs. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.77 lbs. For his win, Garland took home the $3400.00 top prize.

I caught my fish today running docks in Abbott’s and Second Creeks said Garland. My bait of choice today was a spinnerbait.

Travis Donaldson of Cleveland, North Carolina, took second place with a five-bass limit weighing 19.74 lbs., earning him $1500.00.

I picked up a jig first thing this morning, and I ran floating docks from one end of the lake to the other, said Donaldson.

Taking third place, Jason Dew of Hallsboro North Carolina weighed in a five bass limit weighing 18.88 lbs. Dew’s finish earned him $1200.00.

I feel like I gave this one away. I lost two big fish today that would have put me well over 20 lbs, said Dew. I caught them on a big 8-inch Hyper glide bait and an 8-inch Mag Draft swimbait.

Finishing fourth, Shannon Kindley of Lexington, North Carolina, weighed in a five-bass limit weighing 16.90 lbs. earning him $1000.00, and rounding out the top five, Cody Hoyle of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, weighed in five bass weighing 16.75 lbs. earning him $800.00

William Ledford of Dallas, North Carolina, weighed in the biggest bass for the event, tipping the scales at 6.36 lbs. Ledford took home $750.00 for his catch.

I caught my biggest bass on an 8-inch Mag Draft swimbait said Ledford.
