Green and Kepner Win Team Divisional Championship

Lake Russell, September 14-15, 2024 – Zach Green and Jeff Kepner emerged as champions at the American Bass Anglers (ABA) Team Series Division 8 GA-SC Line 2-Day Championship. The tournament, held at the Highway 72 ramp on Lake Russell, brought together top anglers competing for cash prizes and valuable divisional and national points.

Green and Kepner secured the win with a combined two-day total of 23.29 pounds, highlighted by a 4.78-pound largemouth bass. Their performance earned them first place and a cash prize of $1,010.

In second place, Mike Strickland and Cory McGaha weighed in with 22.74 pounds over two days, including the tournament’s largest bass, a 5.24-pound largemouth. Their efforts earned them $600 in prize money and the bonus for Biggest Bass, an additional $180.

Don Kneece and Phil Morris took third place with a total weight of 21.42 pounds, anchored by a 3.62-pound largemouth, winning $405.

Other strong performances came from teams including Michael Nix and Randy Webb, Cory Henry and Travis Mulkey, and Russell Dobbins and Wayne Davenport, rounding out the top six in the highly competitive event.

Additionally, Mike Strickland and Cory McGaha’s consistent performance throughout the season earned them the title of Division 8 Team Points Champions. They will now compete at the 2025 ABA Team Series National Championship in April for the prestigious 2024 Team of the Year title.
