Harper and Koon Claim Team Win on Lake Eufaula

On September 14, 2024, the Alabama South Team Series held its final regular-season event on Lake Eufaula, launching from Lake Point Marina under the direction of Deacon Collins. Despite facing relentless rain and flooding conditions, the anglers persevered, showcasing their skills on one of Alabama’s premier fishing lakes.

The team of Lee Harper and David Koon emerged victorious, weighing in an impressive total of 18.42 lbs to secure 1st place. Using deep crankbaits and worms, Harper and Koon fished through challenging weather to dominate the competition.

In 2nd place, Kyle Sellers and Douglas Beaver brought in a solid bag of 17.11 lbs, earning them a well-deserved spot on the podium.

The 3rd place finish was a tie between two teams. Both Bradley Enfinger and Chandler Ray and the duo of Dr. John Lee and Bobby Padgett weighed five-fish limits of 15.86 lbs, rounding out the top finishers of the day.

Bradley Enfinger and Chandler Ray left, Dr. John Lee and Bobby Padgett right.

The event’s Big Fish Award went to the team of Glenn and William Goodson, who landed a 5.75 lb largemouth, adding excitement to the day’s weigh-in.

One of the most remarkable achievements of the event was the 100% live release rate, with every fish returned safely to the water. The dedication and care shown by the anglers to ensure the health of their catches reflect the commitment of the Alabama South Team Series to conservation.

Top 10 Teams

With this event behind them, the teams now look ahead to the two-day divisional championship on October 26-27, 2024, which will also be held on Lake Eufaula, launching from Lake Point Marina. The championship promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the season, and we thank all the anglers for their participation, sportsmanship, and resilience during this challenging event.
